Parking operators: your EV chargers are frustrating your visitors.

Experiences from our Marketing Manager
Our holiday was fantastic: Sun, beach, happy kids, good food. Exactly what summer should be. Except for one tiny moment where I completely lost it.
Standing in an underground car park, I shouted:
"WHY DOESN'T THIS CAR PARK HAVE A MULTIBOOST INSTALLED? IT WOULD SAVE SO MUCH FRUSTRATION!"
My wife looked at me like I'd officially taken my job a little too seriously.
But hear me out.

The perfect plan...
We arrived at the beach and parked in the underground car park.
Perfect. Let's charge the EV while we're enjoying the sea.
Simple, right?
Wrong.
Step 1: Charging card doesn't work
My all-European charging pass wasn't accepted.
No problem.
Step 2: Bank card
Also didn't work.
Step 3: Scan the QR code
I scan the QR code.
Loading... Loading... Nothing.
Of course.
No mobile data.
Because... it's an underground car park.
Meanwhile, my wife and our three kids have evolved from patient holidaymakers into angry beach monsters. "Daaaad... can we PLEASE go to the beach now?"
Step 4: The cardio workout
So I walk up the stairs.
(The lift was out of order.)
Outside, the signal is perfect. The QR code finally loads. Payment succeeds.
Charging session...
Error.
"Cable already connected."
Seriously?
Back downstairs. Unplug the cable.
Back upstairs. Start charging.
Back downstairs. Plug the cable back in.
Charging finally starts.
Twenty minutes later... We can finally go to the beach.
The rest of the day was absolutely amazing.
But the story wasn't over...
A few hours later we're walking back to the car. Then it hits me.
"I'd better stop the charging session before we get underground..."
Because if I forgot, I'd have to walk all the way back outside again just to get enough mobile signal to stop the session.
Ridiculous.
It wasn't just me
Back at the office I told the story. The funny thing?
Almost everyone had experienced something similar.
In underground car parks, shopping centres, office buildings, hotels, airports...
The charging infrastructure is there. The mobile coverage often isn't.
A problem that's surprisingly easy to solve
Public charging only works when drivers have reliable mobile connectivity.
No mobile signal means:
QR codes don't load.
Payment pages won't open.
Charging apps fail.
Sessions can't start or stop.
Customers get frustrated.
And guess who gets the blame?
Usually the parking operator.
It doesn't have to be this way
Reliable indoor mobile coverage is no longer a luxury.
It's becoming essential infrastructure.
A professionally installed mobile repeater ensures visitors always have enough signal to:
start charging sessions;
complete secure payments;
use navigation;
call for assistance;
access digital parking services;
access your car;
feel safe
Exactly as people expect in 2026.
See it in action
Our German partner FTS Hennig recently solved exactly this problem in an underground car park.
Before:
No mobile coverage.
EV charging and digital payments were difficult or impossible.
After:
Reliable mobile signal throughout the car park.
Smooth charging sessions.
Happy visitors.
A small investment. A huge improvement.
So here's my plea to parking operators:
If you're investing in EV charging, don't forget the mobile signal.
Your visitors—and possibly their partners and children—will thank you.
